Bring the kids along to paint their own ceramic piece.
Parents welcome too! Tatika Ceramics will have a selection of moulds available ranging in size and priced from $5 to $15 which includes use of paint and some expert assistance. Inquire at Stand D18, Tatika Ceramics.

The Townsville & Districts Ceramics Show
The annual Townsville & Districts Ceramics Show will be held as part of the expo and visitors can see around 200 pieces of hand painted splendour. A diverse range of ceramics will be displayed from the colourful and contemporary to traditional, and if you decide you’d like to try your hand at painting, you’ll be able to find out how to get involved.

Fibres & Fabrics
Enter the inspiring world of Fibres & Fabrics. Come and see the exhibit of Altered Books and admire the lively array of patchwork wall hangings, all original designs and arranged on a background of random log cabin piecing. Also on display is a collection of biscornu embroidered mini cushions and a special exhibit of artist trading cards. Expert members of Fibres & Fabrics will be on the stand for the duration of the expo offering advice and instruction on knitting and crocheting. The theme this year is making beanies which will be donated to a charity.

A Challenge for Quilters
Queensland Quilters Inc. has thrown down the challenge to their members to create a quilt using the fabric pictured. It’s a Rowan fabric designed by Martha Negley. The quilts from the challenge will be seen for the first time at CraftExpo so enjoy the many and varied results, all with one common thread.

What would you do with this fabric? See the many results from members of the Queensland Quilters guild, displayed at the expo.

Bernina 'Sew & Show' Bag Challenge
Take part in the Bernina ‘Sew & Show' Bag Challenge – you could WIN a sewing machine!
Spend an hour getting creative and learning how easy it is to sew while embellishing a groovy bag. There will be a huge variety of product contributed by our generous CraftExpo exhibitors to make your bag unique. Using the Bernette H70 (pictured) you will be able to try different techniques. Think fun, funky, fashionable and make every bag a winner!
A prize will be awarded each session and by Sunday the bag maker voted the most creative will win a Bernette 56 for Bernina sewing machine valued at $399!
To join the challenge:
- ‘Sew & Show’ sessions run daily at 10.30am, 12pm and 1.30pm.
- Each session runs for approximately one hour.
- Bags will be paraded by the makers at the end of each session.
- Book at the Bernina Stand C02 when you arrive as places are limited.
- The $5 fee covers everything you need to complete your project.
